All files should be under 300mb in size please e-mail your sales executive to inform them of the FTP transfer. We prefer that the files are compressed with either a .zip or .sit compression method.


Files that are accepted by our prepress department are as follows:

We Prefer:
• Macintosh Quark XPress 4.11, 5.0 and 6.0 documents.
• Collected post script, printer and true type fonts.
• All placed artwork in the Quark document must separate out correctly with no additional spot colors not wanted. (No RGB)
• If it is one color it should only separate out as one color. If it is "full color" it should only separate out to CYMK.
• If an Adobe Photoshop eps is placed it must be saved as in such a manner where all the check boxes are left unchecked, binary is selected and tif for preview is selected. If a Adobe Photoshop eps is not saved out in this manner a 4 color image will image only in greyscale through Quark XPress. Tif’s must be saved out with no LZW compression and Mac settings. We advise against jpg placed artwork.

We also Accept:
PC or Macintosh files with all placed artwork and fonts (True Type, Printer and Postscript)
• Adobe PageMaker 7.0
• Adobe InDesign CS
• Adobe Illustrator 10.0 with embed artwork saved out at PostScript Level 2 with fonts converted to outlines and colors correct for proper separation.
• Adobe Photoshop 7.0 flattened tif's in 4 or 1 color with no LZW compression.
• Macromedia Freehand 10.0
• Adobe Acrobat pdf's saved in pre-press settings.

More Important Information:
Any other files will involve recreation and artwork charges. Any corrections to files not properly set up for pre-press with also involve an artwork charge at $65.00 an hour. Examples of file formats which do not support proper post script options for imaging are Microsoft products (Word, Publisher, Excel, etc.), MultiAd Creator, Corel Draw, etc. Placed artwork should not be in JPEG, BMP, GIF, PICT, TARGA, etc. Dual tone Adobe Photoshop eps's are allowed if properly set up. If the printed piece does not bleed it must have 3/8" blank white area all around to allow for gripper on the press. If it bleeds than 1/8" is required outside the document size set-up into the pasteboard. Registration marks must be in registration and not black. All placed artwork must be at no less than 240 dpi if raster (pixel based).

Emailing or Mailing Documents:
If you choose to email us the files they must be stuffed or zipped to protect from transfer corruption of the said documents and be less than 10M in file size.

If it is larger than this you can send a 100M or 250M Zip Disk, CD-R, CD-RW, Jazz (1 Gig Mac Only), DVD-RAM (Mac Only) or Floppy (if on a floppy most likely the resolution is not high enough for pre-press in using raster files). Disks will not be returned unless a self addressed and postage paid packaging is included.
